Overview of the functions of the phone
The Nokia 6230 phone provides many functions that are practical for daily use, such as a calendar, a 
clock, an alarm clock, a radio, a music player, and a built-in camera. The camera can be used for 
recording video clips and taking pictures that you can, for example, attach as wallpapers in standby 
mode or as thumbnail pictures in 
Contacts
. See Camera on page 115. Also, a range of Nokia Xpress-
on
TM
 colour covers is available for your phone. To change the covers, see Changing the covers on page 
Your phone also supports
• EDGE (Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution), see (E)GPRS on page 104. 
• Multimedia messaging service (MMS) and is able to send and receive multimedia messages 
composed of text, a picture, a sound clip and a video clip. You can save the pictures and ringing 
tones for personalising your phone. See Multimedia messages (MMS) on page 58.
• xHTML browser that enables you to fetch more colourful and richer graphical content from web 
servers and to view it. See Web on page 144.
