Checking the status of the infrared connection
• When
is shown continuously, the infrared connection is active and your
phone is ready to send or receive data via its infrared port.
• When
blinks, your phone is trying to connect to the other device or the
connection has been lost.
GPRS
In this menu you can define when the phone connects to the GPRS network
(network service). You can also define the GPRS settings for using the phone as a
modem with a PC (network service).
To access this menu: Press
Menu
 in standby mode, and select
Connectivity
 and
GPRS
.
Selecting the GPRS connection mode
In the
GPRS
 menu, select
GPRS connection
 and
Always online
 or
When needed
.
• If you select
Always online
, the phone automatically registers to a GPRS
network when you switch the phone on. The phone remains registered to the
GPRS network even when you do not use it.
When
Always online
is selected and the GPRS service is available,
 is shown
on the display.
• If you select
When needed
, the phone registers to the GPRS network only when
you access a service, for example a browser service, over GPRS connection. The
phone does not remain registered to the GPRS network after the connection.
