5. Menu functions
The phone offers a range of 
functions that allow you to tailor to 
your needs. These functions are 
arranged in menus.
You can use the menu in the 
following ways:
By scrolling
1. Press Menu in standby mode.
2. Press 
 or 
 to scroll to the 
desired main menu, and press 
Select to enter it. Press Exit to 
exit a main menu.
3. If the menu contains submenus, 
scroll to the desired one and 
press Select to enter it. Press 
Back to exit a submenu.
If you do not want to save the 
changes you made to menu 
settings, press 
 or press and 
hold Back.
By shortcut
The menus, submenus and setting 
options are numbered. These 
numbers are called shortcut 
numbers.
In standby mode, press Menu, 
within three seconds, key in the 
shortcut number of the menu you 
want to access. Repeat this for 
submenus.
For example, if you want to activate 
Call waiting options
, press Menu,

).
Note that the shortcut number for 
Messages
 is 01.

Writing and sending text 
messages (Write messages: 
Menu 01-1)
You can write and send multi-part 
text messages of up to almost three 
ordinary text messages in length 
(network service). Invoicing is based 
upon how many ordinary messages 
are needed for any multi-part 
message.
To send a message, the phone 
number of your message centre has 
to be saved in the phone. See 
”Message settings (Menu 01-9)” on 
page 20.
